Welcome Message from the President of Asian Pacific Digestive Week 2020
We have the privilege of holding the congress in the heart of Malaysia with support for academic event was plentiful indeed. The local organising committee is working hard in coordinating the comprehensive sessions which will cover all areas involving digestive diseases. The theme chosen for APDW 2020 is “Vision of Excellence in Digestive Disorders & Sciences”. The theme recognises rapid advances being made in digestive diseases that link between fundamental and translational research. The evidence generated will hopefully be utilised in our daily clinical practices.
This reputable meeting will provide a platform for students, scientists and clinicians to meet the world renowned speakers and international delegates from all over the world to share the latest findings in the cutting edge research related to digestive health and also career advancement in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Hopefully this meeting will address high priority areas considering the burden of illness in the Asia Pacific region in particular.
Screening for early detection and prediction of clinical outcomes in digestive disorders remain challenging tasks for all health care providers. In the era of fourth industrial revolution and artificial intelligence, we should positively embrace this opportunity for a better approach towards a personal healthcare. This meeting is also the platform to highlight not only basic, clinical, translational research gaps but also combination of preventive medicine, prognostication and precision medicine in the arena of digestive disorders and sciences in the Asia Pacific region.
